I don't usually give 5* for a picture with no tags but WOW! View at full screen for full effect.

This F-15E Strike Eagle is USAF s/n 00-3000, msn 1366/E227, assigned to the 494th FS "Panthers", of the 48th FW, stationed at RAF Lakenheath in the U.K.

I immediately associated this picture with the UK location. It's especially fun to watch the old movie "633 Squadron" where the RAF Mosquitos are training in the same valleys for the big raid on Norway, then cut across to current videos with US and RAF aircraft snaking down the same valleys. The movie integrated authentic flybys with decent (for the day) in-cockpit pilot reactions and process screen shots out the cockpit. Not Star Wars quality, but quite OK. And, it looked like they burned real Mosquito hulks in the fire scenes.

most likely from the Wales mountains. the 492nd and 494th practice minimum altitude flying there regularly. Have seen some pretty dynamite pix from there.

Just wondering: Where was the photographer standing when he took that shot? And after he took it, did he have on clean underwear?

the water vapor on the wings looks cool
