Dan - This is not a picture of a Piper Dakota/ Pathfinder. See text under caption. Please correct submission. Great picture of an old workhorse.
Thanks John must have been half asleep when I copied and pasted that hi. Best Regards Dan.
Great shot of a great plane Danny
A Bristol Britannia copy! Great old relic.
I've always liked the lines of the CL-44. Quite the handsome bird.
Very pretty aircraft.
From Wikipedia: The rollout of the Yukon was a near-disaster when the prototype could not be pushed out of the hangar since the tail was unable to clear the hangar doors. During test flights, many problems were encountered from complete electrical failure to engines shaking loose and almost falling off. Rolls-Royce had problems delivering engines, resulting in the sarcastically-named "Yukon gliders" being parked outside Canadair as late as 1961.
Ahh, the good old days before that debacle known as the "reunification" of the Canadian military branches. Nice to see the centennial star emblem on the tail - for those of us old enough to remember.
