FlightSimCon 2015, an annual aviation and flight simulation conference, will be held at the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, Conn., June 13-14.
FlightSimCon is designed to show pilots and aviation enthusiasts the power of at-home, desktop flight simulation, according to organizers.
“For pilots, at-home simulation offers the ability to participate in a realistic online training environment with other pilots and virtual air traffic controllers,” organizers said. “It allows pilots to ‘think flying’ between flights, improve radio work, and practice IFR procedures, all in a fun and safe environment. And for aviation enthusiasts, at-home simulation lets people experience the magic of flight—something they may otherwise be unable to achieve.
“As a student commercial pilot, an at-home desktop flight simulator has been incredibly helpful for training,” said conference attendee Evan Reiter, an administrator with Boston Virtual ATC, an online aviation community for pilots and air traffic controllers. “Online aviation has made me a much better, safer, and more confident pilot, particularly with radios and IFR procedures.”
The conference has activities scheduled for those of all experiences, from career-focused discussions by flight instructors and airline pilots to “how-to” seminars on setting up a first at-home simulator for around $2,000.
In addition to participating in live demonstrations, attending exhibits and seminars, and trying out simulators, conference attendees have access to the New England Air Museum, the largest aviation museum in New England. Located just off the grounds of Bradley International Airport, the museum contains multiple hangars of interactive exhibits and displays, including more than 70 aircraft on display.
The event will feature exhibits from many of the largest FSX and flight simulation developers, as well as suppliers of real-world aviation hardware.
This event is open to the public and is for all ages. Cost is $60 for all FlightSimCon events for the weekend. Discounted registration fees are available for students and student pilots.

Thanks for the article! Boston Virtual ATC is looking forward to participating in this exciting event. As an attendee myself for the past two years, I strongly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in flying, aviation, air traffic control, or airplanes.
Between the Museum, our exhibitors, and the speakers, there really is something at this event for anyone passionate about aviation.

Even if you have been flying for years and never considered flight simulation, or always loved flight simulation but never considered real world flying, this is a great event for everyone with a dream and passion for aviation.
There are a lot of great vendors, speakers, and developers that will be present under one roof. It comes only once a year and is an experience you truly don’t want to miss!
