The Israelis are quick learners. If possible they will build runways sufficient to handle long haul flights to avoid relying on Cypress as an alternate. Plans to extend Haifa runways into the bay will likely be accelerated (currently on hold for cost considerations).

well, right, wrong, or indifferent, there is a lot at stake, israel rake's in 11b /year on tourism and by the fas saying this, knee jerks every other foreign airline into this. its a "catch 22 - darned if you do, and darned if you don't" situation. i just hope and pray that there will be no other horrific and tragic incidents like mh17

FAA Lifts Ban on Flights to Tel Aviv

The Federal Aviation Administration ended a ban on flights by U.S. airlines to and from Tel Aviv, Israel.

The ban had been put into effect earlier in the week after security a Hamas rocket hit a target near the airport on Tuesday. Other airlines flying to Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport cancelled flights after the FAA move....
