I had my first flying lesson in a new Cub (NC 88545) back in Sept.'46. We had to obey light signals from the tower and use the grass since the paved surfaces were for the big guys at Wold Chamberlain. KMSP

For those interested, in Cleveland, Ohio, there is an initiative currently under way to build the Davis Aerospace & Maritime Academy.
Fundraising for this project includes an off Broadway performance of "Black Angels Over Tuskegee" as well as an auction for a flying lesson in a J-3 Cub, a Tour of Cleveland in Bell 206 BIII JetRanger, an introductory helicopter lesson in a Hughes 269C+ Helicopter, an introductory airplane flying lesson, a ride in a WWII era SNJ (Navy version of T-6 Texan), as well as more aviation and non-aviation items.
