The ESQ?
Joel,
"Esq. mini-me", maybe? Sure sounds like it. The writing style is too similar to Esq. and I've never heard of a Sanchez with "Wilbur" as his first name, please forgive me if there is a real Wilbur Sanchez on this site and I truly mean it....Can anyone say Orville?
In case it's not "Esq. mini-me",...... Wilbur, all Part 121 operators are required to operate using a Minimum Equipment List to determine which inop items can be deferred prior to flight and still launch legally while meeting established required safety margins.

Quack, quawk quawk
I was so sad that I thought my "down voting" days came to an end. But alas my mighty "down voting" finger has been risen from the dead. It has once again been freed from the bondage of boredom and inactivity. It has again come to life and risen out of the ashes like a Phoenix. Sweeeeeet!

BUT
Assuming this story is true ( after all, it was written by "aviation journalists"...may have been a "slow news day" ) can someone debate me on the merits of the proposition...that it is gross irresponsibility to launch without "back-ups" ?
I know of NO ONE in my "crowd" who would think of launching without "back-ups" to their panels - at least an I Pad (my friends have either "WingX Pro7" (my favorite) or "ForeFlight" on theirs) and/or something like my Garmin Area (even with my "500" if I had to, I could make a CatIIIc).
What am I missing here ?
