Tell me...I have it on good authority that there are 30 Lithium batteries on a "Dreamliner"
Can anyone confirm this ?
I also understand the batteries are charged at the ramp and not by the engines. Cheaper to use land based power than fuel power. The batteries can be charged by the engines in an emergency ?
Hi Don, All aircraft have cracks, some bigger than others. Don't decry Airbus, they are way ahead of Boeing now (sadly) Just need to sort out a few teething problems. It's all about fuel and economy....passenger safety is expendible.
First Air NZ flight from Auckland into the new Changi airport, July 1981. Brand new Jumbo only 1/4 full.
My most enjoyable flight as I stretched out accross the three seats and read Spike Milligan's "Adolf hitler and my part in his downfall" A memorable flight in a wonderful aircraft. Will be sadly missed, thank you Boeing for nmany safe miles over the years.
