One of my favorites
UR-82060 is (was) the registration #, and the type code is A225.
Saw this magnificent bird in Yerevan. Armenia in Aug 2009. Unforgettable. Such a shame it is no more.
The sheer size of this thing is hard to imagine. Kudos the the engineers who made it work. There are rumours that another one might be built from remaining and newly fabricated parts, with more recent avionics and engines. Let's hope so.
@valeri bessonov enjoy your fiction
Such a beauty.So sad that it is gone.
@Id Rocketeer and you - your fictions! Strength is in the truth, armchair analyst.

According to Flight Radar, the An-225 Mriya, tail number UR-82060, returned to Gostomel from Denmark on February 5, 2022, and immediately underwent scheduled maintenance in one of the hangars. However, the work was never completed—according to some reports, on February 24, the An-225 was destroyed by Ukrainian artillery fire during an attempt by Ukrainian forces to recapture Gostomel airfield from Russian paratroopers, who had captured it without a single shot or casualties.
