Thats an F-5A not a RF-5. Just sayin'
What's the Difference, Just Sayin'
Joe Clark... the difference was all in front of the cockpit... the RF-5 had cameras mounted in the nose with glass glazing for the aerial reconnaissance camera lenses. As such, it was assigned a separate and distinct model designation.
Why would cameras be mounted In the nose and not in the belly of the craft for reconnaissance unless it's quite obvious that the two nose cones are different. Just curious. Thanks, Joe ð½.
Joe Clark... google for images of the Northrop RF-5. What you see should explain the differences graphically. Apparently there were modifications over time in where the cameras were mounted, but it appears fairly consistent with one glazing in the nose looking forward and down... with design variations on the glazing locations for the port and starboard cameras.
Thanks, I appreciate it alot. Fly Safe. Joe, out.
