A couple years ago I was hiking on the hills to the west of SFO on a sunny day like this one and saw a KLM MD-11 taking off. I looked it up later and it appeared to be the last MD-ll in passenger service. If this shot was taken around 2-3 pm this 747-400 is likely the plane that took the place of that MD-11.
