Love the Super Scoopers! When I was a kid I lived about a mile from Canadair in Montreal. The original Super Scooper, the CL215, actually flew over our neighbourhood (test flights or whatever) - I only saw it a couple of times, but it was pretty cool. Such amazing aircraft!

Canada has a history of developing purpose-built aircraft including the CL215-415, Otter (single and twin), Beaver, etc. all of which laid the groundwork for widely popular corporate and commercial jets as well as turboprops. Sadly, the ingenuity and ownership seem to be drifting away.

122421 I live in Los Angeles, CA. We have been very fortunate that the State of California has set up contract(s) to have this specialized aircraft available to us to use as out fire season s year round. I have first hand experience witnessing the pilots fly this aircraft in dangerous fire situations. They have literally saved out asses many times over.
