Great shot.
Good Grief! The last time I saw a Sky-Crane is was the gateway to the Pema County Air Museum in Tucson and that was many years ago. Did I read that Erickson used the "Crane" for fire fighting? Looks like wild fire colors.
Beautiful reflection!
When I served in the Alabama National Guard in the late 70's we went on an FTX from Hamilton, Al to Ft. Rucker and road in the box of the Skycrane.. It was a cold December day and there was no heat in that box... This photo brings back those memories.. thanks for sharing.
Awesome shot Matt........
To Ernst Linnemann. They do have at least one fire fighter version of the Air Crane. It carries the name "Elvis" and was at Oshkosh 3 or 4 years ago. They did a few water drops over the runway. You might find some photos at www.airventure.org. Elvis was also used in a program on, I think, Discovery Channel where they were constructing high-line electrical towers somewhere in Canada.
This is really cool.
Thx
