Curtiss Warhawk shows 325th FG 15th AF colors from Famous Checkertail Clan , Northern Africa, Foggia Italy, 1943-1945. P 40's launched off USS Ranger 23 Feb 1943 to Casablanca. Later A/C were P 47's then P 51's. My Father, 2nd Lt. Russell Elliott, flew P51B 43 24857 on 18 missions with 319th FS until end of European War. Met A gorgeous Navy Phar. Mate, Ceola Dean, married, 6 children, St. Bernards, Blue Ridge Mt. farm, a fantastic family journey. Long live that Greatest Generation, My Mom & Dad, both WW 2 veterans.
