McDonnell Douglas MD-83 (N9681B) - Ive been keeping an eye on the ever-decreasing number of MDs in AAs fleet, and earlier today I noticed that N9681B arrived at DFW a week ago ... and hasnt gone anywhere since then. Im wondering if last weeks flight from Dayton to Dallas was its final revenue flight.br /This shot of N9681B was clicked back in 2009 as it was being prepped for a flight from DFW to SMF.br /Im really going to miss the Dogs.

I've been keeping an eye on the ever-decreasing number of MDs in AA's fleet, and earlier today I noticed that N9681B arrived at DFW a week ago ... and hasn't gone anywhere since then. I'm wondering if last week's flight from Dayton to Dallas was its final revenue flight.

I'm really going to miss the Dogs.

Although RNO is still seeing the MDs pass through here daily, I'm anticipating that Reno will see its last AA Dog by the end of June. That will leave AAY as the only airline still using MDs here.

My prediction that Reno would see its last AA MD "by the 'end' of June" was off by a month. Instead, it happened at the beginning of June. AA switched equipment from MD-80s to B738s on all flights to RNO yesterday.
