Are those solar panels on top?

That was the flying testbed for Pratt & Whitney engines. It even flew with a propellor in the nose. It was based at the Saint-Hubert airport and showed-up over Montréal City from time to time. It is now retired and kept at Trenton for museum purposes. It is now replaced by two 747SP based at Mirabel.
guaauuuuu excelent picture, congratulations, best regart

I'm sorry to correct you but they are not solar panels. They are load bank radiators used to dissipate excess energy created by the hydraulic and electric power generated by the engine under test. Basically electric thermal radiators.

I spoke with the team at PWC Plant 5 when I used to work for PWC Plant 22 in Toronto.

Another neat bit of info: this aircraft used to be a part of the American Airlines fleet (1961) and then Middle East Airlines (1971) before it served for PWC. Great to see her fly when I was working in the area and sad to see her be retired.
