Delta Tests Waiving Checked Bag Fees to Reduce Carry-Ons

提交时间:

Would you check your bags if there was no charge to do so? If you’ve ever been on a flight jam-packed with passengers and their carry-on luggage, you know that sometimes too much is just, well, actually too much—the carry-on luggage won’t always fit. Not to mention it can severely slow down the boarding process as fliers eternally search for one last slot to tuck their wheeled luggage into before the flight attendants finally call it and start checking bags. Delta Air Lines is looking at ways to… (www.msn.com) 更多...

Figures as some items were way too large for carry on or too many for each person.

I haven't seen this reduce carry-ons when I've flown Southwest.
I think people are either thinking the bag won't make it (not very common) or they'll get out of the airport faster (true). Also, if you're only going for a very short trip (like over a weekend or so), then a checked bag makes zero sense.

Simple, just charge $50 for every carry-on Zero for checked luggage. Its a pain in the azz to stand there waiting while some idiot spends forever trying to get their carry-on in the overhead bin times 20! Sick and tired of the delays getting off the jet due to the idiots trying to retrieve their luggage back! Should make all carry-on folk sit and wait until all of us non-carryon folk disembark! Or better yet ban all carry-ons period! Just what fits under the seat in front of you, now that would be an awesome flight!!

You are a simpleton.

What would really be an awesome flight? If you took your trips via car and not by plane. THAT would be awesome

Looks like we just ran across one of those idiots rudely holding up the boarding/deboarding process because they think they can save a buck or 5 min airport time by bringing everything for a 2 week trip via carry on.

Clearly an assumption on your part and clear evidence you resemble the final exit point for the lower digestive tract.

First, and when I traveled weekly, I didn’t check my bag. And I didn’t hold anyone up. I knew what I was doing. Unlike you.

Second, it was nice to avoid baggage claim. Saved a ton of time (greater than 30 minutes each occurrence. - not the 5 you think). As an added bonus, not checking a bag allowed me to avoid idiotic fools like yourself.

And yes, you were easy to pick out. You had one thumb in your mouth and your other thumb in the aforementioned exit point, exchanging thumb locations on a cadence that would make a Swiss watchmaker jealous.

Hence, the notion of your being a simpleton.

There needs to be a box at each check-in. You can carry on the plane what will fit in the box. Everything else gets checked. An FAA deal and uniform across all airlines so there is no marketing advantage.
