If only Boeing hadn't tried to drown the baby at birth.

They tried but the Canadians and French kept it alive and saved the day. Otherwise, some old 1960s technology from Boeing. Actually, the conception of the A220, let alone its birth, probably would not have happened had Boeing been on their game. A good friend worked on the A220 prototype and early production versions and realized early on that taking such a bold jump forward in technology, as opposed to traditional conservative moves to new models, was full of risk. Bombardier was bruised by Boeing's attempted government bullying but Airbus saw a great opportunity to get very modern technology at a bargain-basement price. The proof is in the numbers we see today. All IMHO.
