20 degrees in heading difference and half the runway length. That's simply not paying attention.

Was it the same crew that landed the C-17 at the wrong airport in Tampa last month?

GPS? Back up visual approach with navaids? Hello? Anyone home in the left seat? I'll bet they really got on the brakes and prop reverse once they determined the end of the runway was in their face!

They claim landing roll was 1500 feet.

I went to airport this mourning. They say that the Saab can takeoff in 1500 feet. They were working on wheel loading and probably rolling in the mourning. Still working on plan and dealing with FAA.

"Silver Airways said 11 passengers and three crew members were on board at the time of what the company called a diversion."

They may call it a diversion, but I'm sure FAA will process this as a deviation. Not sure how the pilot screwed up, but remind me not to fly on a Silver Airlines flight for a while.

Commuter Airline Pilot Lands At Wrong Airport

A Silver Airways Saab 340 Turbo landed at Fairmont Municipal Airport in West Virginia (4G7) Tuesday. Normally, that wouldn't be news, but the commuter airliner was actually bound for Clarksburg, and Fairmont's runway is not rated for the 22,000 pound airplane. The single-wheel weight of the runway is listed at 12,500 pounds.
