提交时间:

A flying car capable of hitting speeds over 100mph (160kmh) and altitudes above 8,000ft (2,500m) has been issued with a certificate of airworthiness by the Slovak Transport Authority. The hybrid car-aircraft, AirCar, is equipped with a BMW engine and runs on regular petrol-pump fuel. It takes two minutes and 15 seconds to transform from car into aircraft. there must be dozens of powerful reasons to not make this flying car, and not to buy any flying car.
Seen the highways lately ?, with far too many imperial drivers not yielding right of way, changing lanes without signaling, and substance abusing drivers are out in full force. If operators of this gadget are asked to maintain altitudes, or follow patterns, or any reasonable traffic seperation actions, what are the chances the safe, smart things will be done? And, what the heck do we as a civilization need this for? How much training will equip any purchaser of this thing with sufficient safety and operational conciousness? Oh, and lets make the silly thing fully automatic, or as much automous as possible, and imagine the fun.....

You are correct Patrick. These 'flying cars' are a disaster waiting to happen. Insanity on the roads will turn to insanity in the air, above everybody.

its a BMW- meaning its got design and pizazz and runs like a top, but the shortcomming is the pilots . who have a toy that is smarter than they are.

I am always amazed at the fascination of a "flying car". Do people actually think that they can go to the Flying Car dealership and buy one and the drive/fly away without having a pilot's license of some sort? and does the public think that they will be allowed to just take off from any of the main roads? I do remember my favorite Flying Car in "The Man with the Golden Gun." he took off from a dirt road in a third world country. Probably not a lot of regulations there.

Of course that is what they think... I find that most people in the world in regards to aviation are real "ID-10-T's" They figure they can run out and buy that car and roll down the runway anytime they want rain or shine! Figure like the Tesla Owners caught sleeping driving down the road...

Many think just get out of the drive way and off to the skies ya go. Punch a button or two and it will take you right outside the office where you work. Problem is congestion on the car airways with other flying pig oops cars. Landing and taking off where? At LAX or SEA? Really? Heck no too many ifs and such. Cant uss a road and need to drive to an airport to take off and then where do you land it? List goes on. Never has worked and never will Molt Taylor did it years back and his didnt catch on.

If I was 18 again, definitely would fly this car/plane asset. Am way older now and would not. New things have to be tried. Reach forward. Am a cowboy.
