As it should be in public. I really don't want to hear what you're blasting, would you want to hear my hard rock/heavy metal music blasting? It's not just generational either. I ta l e the train to get around Atlanta. The worst offenders are older drunk guys with blue tooth speakers blaring old R&B from the early '80's like we're at a house party.

It is a nuisance in any public place, and that includes people talking with the speaker on.

There was a time, where people huddled up close to the pay phone and talked really low so as no one else could hear a conversation. With cell phones, that has gone out the window, and to make things worse, it is nothing but gossip for the most part. If one has to spend more than 5 minutes on the phone, it isn't an important conversation.

Good! Wish it could be done in other public places too.

Even people "finishing up" phone calls during boarding are annoying "twats" at the English say.....

Quite right too - 99% are worthless BS calls anyway.
Why cannot airlines or Boeing/Airbus have a signal cut-off shield when one enters the aitrcraft?

It is sad that this has to be put into writing. Consideration for others has departed everywhere.

All because those people who demand respect from others doesn’t give a damn about respecting others. It will only get worse. Sad.

When good manners and common sense are no longer taught at home and/or at schools, legislation and rulemaking is the only solution.

Why was it ever allowed to begin with?

People had common sense back then so they thought it wasn't necessary to put it in writing.

Yes and had respect for others. Now one has to tolerate complete idiots at every turn. There's one round every corner. Like the guy at security having to empty his pockets, take off his huge overcoat and hold up everyone. Dickheads everywhere.

Let me guess the demographic that is causing the problem.

If you're thinking younger folk you'd be wrong. My experience has been that it's the ones tending toward middle age who are the worst offenders, possibly because they don't know enough to purchase ears buds or headphones...

Open back headphones put almost as much noise out into the surrounding air as they put into your ear. Soon they will have to tell us what sort of headphones are and are not acceptable.

The only problem with United’s new rule is their not tossing them off the plane at 37,000 feet.
