My wife was on a flight where a woman went ballistic over some perceived slight. She started screaming and yelling, and her horrified daughter glared at her. Eventually they taxied back to the gate, police met them, there were words spoken, and the daughter told the police to take her mother off the plane. Apparently the mom was pushing for an academy award, and the mother was 'escorted' off the plane, screaming at her daughter the entire time. The door was closed, and people applauded. It ended up being a delay of almost an hour just because of the crap the mother pulled.
I heard, from a doctor that was on a flight where someone jumped up, and tried to open the main door in the front of the plane. An engineer told people to take it easy on detaining the poor guy, because there was no chance that the guy could ever open the door. People were freaking, but eventually calmed down, and the poor freaked out dude eventually calmed down too, and they were able to get him to a seat and someone dropped a couple Valiums down his throat. All was good. No over reaction, no missing teeth, no face smashed into the filthy flooring. An oddity... Fly safe!
flew over Khe Sanh many times 1968... looking for the enemy... would circle for 8 hours and fly back to Thailand..go downtown and get drunk...always respected those poor grunts in the thick of things while I was relatively safe at 16000 ft above...always felt bad flying away... always thank a marine when I see one, especially one who served in 'Nam...
