SIA 22 Does 23.2 Hour Flight
Absolutely amazing. Instead of doing the typical Northern flight, they went west over the Pacific. Interesting to think what the passengers might have said about that, considering the flight is done on a fully Business Class converted A340-500. They got their moneys worth on that flight. youd think that they would have to join up with a tanker mid flight..
that was the routing when I was on SIA 22 2 years ago. Crossed coastline just north of Vancouver. Must have not had much tailwind.
Wow.
must have been a hell of a flight and i wonder if they allowed the passengers to smoke
There was even a longer timed flight on Sep. 8th at 23:45 that only averaged 416 miles an hour ground speed. Must have been some head wind. The Lockheed 1049-G Connie used to take over 24 hours from CDG to SFO I was told.
WOW, thats amazing how 777's 747's and A380's can cut that in more than half..
