VIDEO: Breathtaking Boeing 747 Cockpit Scenes

提交时间:

Every now and again, we come across a video that so perfectly captures the magic of aviation, we can’t help but share it. Today, we came across a three minute video capturing moments inside a Boeing 747-400. We couldn’t discern, for sure, what carrier it is or if it encompasses a single flight or clips from multiple. It does look like it starts off in Anchorage, however. (www.liveleak.com) 更多...

This conversation makes me tired. I really liked the video, with the music from a band i've never heard before. I've spent plenty of time listening to chatter on the headsets, and that's interesting, too. But I guess I don't know what a true aviation enthusiast is anymore. Do I have to give up every other part of life to be one? Come on, people, just enjoy it, and take it for what it is.

Thanks, John. And don't dwell on the few negatives. Those inflexibles are a tiny minority.

Looks to me like a KLM/Air France freighter Leeuwin. One of those that the nose lifts up to load. It's a 747-406(ER) Construction Number 33695, Line No.1328. First flight 4-20-2003. It wears tail number PH-CKB, has GE engines CF6-80C2B5F. The fleet number is KB-051. The first officer enjoys Coca-Cola.

I'm a bit torn. I love music but as a guy who it getting ready to go to school for my A&P I love the sound of a jet engine. Either way great video, could've been a bit longer though!

I read the comments before I watched the video, so I expected some really irritating alt-rock soundtrack like every other aviation montage, but this is The National. The National is a great band.

When they play a gig in the hanger that's fine. In the cockpit is not.

I just flew a 172 with an aux port. My father and I were listening to manheim steamroller while flying over a snow covered country side... does this make me a non-aviator?!

If you really don't see the difference, please... sit back down, preferably in your FBO's pilot lounge (sans ipod). Maybe some of the other pilots' enthusiasm will rub off on you. Btw, I'm extremely envious that you can still go flying with your father. Savor every moment of that possible. Just tell me you don't turn off the comm radio and wear headsets that completely cancel outside noise. If so, you MAY have your priorities a bit mixed up, and watching a video with nothing but music for a sound track may provide you with just as much satisfaction. THAT might make you a non-aviator. Just pulling your chain, Michael. I'm quite confident you were just doing the same to me. Fair enough?

Personally I would have called this video - Dangle the carrot :)

amazing that people can be so negative over something so nice. True aviation enthusiast? what? come on. Like you have to hear engines and radios for it to be a good video? sure, in some videos it's nice both ways. This guy used some creativity and made a video - if people don't like it, don't watch it. It is not required reading!

I thought the music was kinda nice. Personally. But I wouldn't ever tell someone they HAD to download it either.

And to be an enthusiast... lets look at the word itself - it means enthusiastic, happy, eager - Maybe the flying professional is no longer a enthusiast and more of a realist? No matter what you fly there are days it's just a job, and other days you feel like a million dollars. It's funny, I used to get excited when it was severe clear. Then I was excited when I could shoot an approach to minimums. Then I was eager to fly in the afternoons and not at 0 dark thirty in the AM. Can you be enthusiastic for aviation without having to be enthusiastic ALL the time?

If you are making love, do you enthusiastically jump out of bed when you hear a 747 engine? because if you do, you may not be an enthusiast but an idiot! LOL

Maybe to some people enthusiast means something different. I have run into very few pilots that didn't love aviation to their core - in fact you have to, with all the trials and tribulations a pilot goes though in their career - you have to have a love affair with aviation to stay in it... so to hear someone say "you aren't a true enthusiast if you don't X" - well, perhaps they think of the word enthusiast as someone who would give a kidney to fly for a living - and not someone who flies for a living and loves it.. because let me tell you, at the end of a 16 hour day on day 4, the last thing you want to hear is aviation chatter on the radio or jet engine noise - and yet you still love what you do for a living.

and now that I have been away from flying for three years due to my spine injury, let me tell you, I still enjoyed the video... even without the radio comm and engine noise, in fact, it was a better production value the way it was made - more cinematic... not a documentary

i have to agree with you...i can't figure out why some viewers have to bring on a negative twist to something so simple as a "music" video. Their comments though say much about what kind of people they are, so we can just leave it at that....I thought the video was great and I love The Nationionals. Plain and simple.

This the best cockpit scene , the beautiful sky line clouds . this is why I wanted to become a pilot for, but ended up as a coalminer .

Awe MAN my heart goes out to you Sir! My Son soloed our plane for his High School Senior Project, got married, moved and also ended up as an underground coal miner in WV!

If a pilot turns off any important radio input in favor of music, He just may become a coal miner unexpectedly in a very rapid speed!

Absolutely beautiful. As a 747 pilot I still can't get enough of this stuff. I feel sorry for the public who never get a chance to see us in action.

Great job!

Yes, It is too bad that the flying public does not see the pilots in action. Before 9/11 if you asked a flight attendant to have a look into the cockpit and chat with the pilots it was usually no problem if they were not busy. I have seen that on various times when I was traveling. It was a great experience to see the landing strip in the distance, usually about 10 miles out, before you had to get back to your seat before landing. It would be great if a flight/cockpit cam could be installed on every new plane showing the instrument panels and when ready for landing the runway cam be turned on and be shown on the cabin monitors. This way the flying public could still see the actions of the front line operations of a plane.

@209flyboy You really are so lucky!
Nice video but wasn't "Ten Feet" called a bit early?
Finals at video end....Threshold in distance, well out, still over approach lights!
Would have expected approach lights to be out of sight behind aircraft by "Ten Feet" call!
(Or maybe I'm mistaken and they're not approach lights?)

After flying for 40 years and now being retired for 8 years, this video brought back a lot of memories. My ears appreciated the soft music after 35 years of hearing the power of jet engines. Enjoy the magic of flight and the happiness of being a pilot. Good job!

I have a very special friend who is a 747 pilot. I felt like I was watching him as he so skillfully manuvered his cockpit. It was a glimpse into his world. What an accomplishment to gracefully soar thru the clouds!!!

This bullish@t about a true aviation enthusiast only wanting to hear the monotone drone of engine noise and radio calls can only be coming from armchair wannabes that would rather fly their sim than talk to a woman. Real men fly planes and shoot videos and put them to any soundtrack they damn well please. You don't like it… get off your cheese puff ass and give us your version.

mistitled. Should be "breathtaking views of flight". Too many clouds, too much music, very little 747 cockpit video.

A true aviation enthusiast wants to hear the sound of powerful engines punctuated by radio calls and coordinated crew conversation... NOT somebody else's favorite song. Leave your personality out of it.

I understand but don't put that on golfcharlie232's back or whatever his UK call sign is. His Audiomachine music with his beautiful shots from the cockpit are second to none. I just wish everyone could see and appreciate what he gives to us in his blogs and postings. A tip of the hat to my favorite, golfcharlie232.

You cannot speak for me. I'm an AvGeek, but also a music lover. Every video we get is what you describe. This was fresh and original. As a musician, soundtracks are important to me. What would Jaws be with disco music? What would Star Wars be with Creedence Clearwater Revival? Superman, Star Trek etc. Music is very important in setting the mood for what you're watching. I particularly didn't like the song, but it fit. As an AvGeek, I liked it.

I don't pretend to speak for anyone but myself, thank you very much. As a 65 year old native of Nashville, I'll bet I've been a pilot, recording engineer, AND musician longer than you. Completely eliminating the original sound track (that we as aviation buffs want to hear) and substituting music that appeals to a very narrow demo is not what <I> want to hear, even if it's music I like. To me, it's supposed to be an aviation video, not a vehicle for someone to play you their favorite song with irrelevant video playing in the background. It's just my opinion, but at least mine is coherent. What would Jaws have been with disco music? What about Star Wars with CCR? Technically, the same as THIS!

" A true aviation enthusiast wants to hear the sound of powerful engines punctuated by radio calls and coordinated crew conversation... NOT somebody else's favorite song. Leave your personality out of it."
These are your words. We'll I AM an aviation enthusiast, and I liked it, so that makes me what? You do not make broad generalizations about what you don't know. I would've preferred a classical soundtrack, but it doesn't mean it sucked.

Josh, I learned long ago to give little ear to anyone who anoints themselves fit to define the attributes of a TRUE {insert chosen endeavour here}. When said dogmatist is of a particular vintage your best course of action is often to just agree with him and swiftly move on.
nashcat
nashcat -6
Maybe your phony outrage blinded you during that moment you thought I said it sucked. But, what DID suck was that the cockpit audio had been removed and replaced with SOMEBODY ELSE'S FAVORITE SONG. The person that did that was more interested in the song than what he was laying it on top of. To you, was that preferable to actually hearing what was going on in the cockpit? You may be an aviation enthusiast, but I stand by my comparison to a TRUE aviation enthusiast. You should learn the difference if you plan on arguing about it. Get enlightened - if you didn't sit there wishing the original audio wasn't missing, you're NOT a true enthusiast. Any suggestion otherwise is laughable.

Agree. Anyone who is passionate about planes, wanna hear the sound of planes. What would Formula 1 be without the loud buzzing sound of those monstrous engines?

UMESA, TAGRU and SEPTU, so says Viras, are intersections over Iraq. Flight appears to originate in the Middle East, maybe Saudi Arabia, inbound to somewhere in Western Europe, perhaps UK (couldn't recognize the night landscape of destination airfield).

I just was wondering - chime in and tell me what you think if you are reading this:

What would you consider the best aviation enthusiast video - what would YOU PERSONALLY like to see in a movie about aviation. Don't tell me what you think most people want to see - tell me what YOU want to see.

Also, would you be interested in a documentary about in flight emergencies from the pilots who flew them, show pictures and other evidence, how it was resolved or dealt with?

Finally - if you are a pilot with a couple of good in flight emergency stories (your Identity will be withheld) and would like to help make a project like that possible- please PM me.
