Who uses business aviation?
"Fortune 500 companies fly just 3 percent of U.S. business aircraft. That leaves an incredibly large majority—97 percent— to a broad cross-section of organizations, including large, medium and small governments, universities, charitable organizations and businesses." Wait... I thought that only "corporate 'fat cats' fly around in bizjets"? (journey.beechcraft.com) 更多...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
The statistic that I thought really stand out is that 78% of passengers are "non-executive" level. I.E. Customers, Salespeople, Managers and Technicians - meaning regular folks like me/us.
There are many instances where if you put 8 employees on a charter, it can be cheaper than taking an airline. There is also no wait, or security and you can leave whenever you need.
prime example.....WM Aviation

This positive report should be "NEWS" because of the ongoing vilification of business aviation often in the news or political speeches over the past several years. This has actually hurt one of the "little guys" that made a living in the aircraft industry (me!). This political grand-standing for the sake of tax revenue and votes moreover is "Propaganda" and the general public deserves to know the truth about the important role "business aviation" plays in the economy. Thank you for under-girding me by reiterating these FACTS @Brian Bishop. Be encouraged.
Hah, there's a "mixing business with pleasure" component of the market too. For example my lawyer rented a Hawker 800 bizjet to take her dogs and cats from her east coast house to her mountain retreat without the stress of commercial flights. (I went along to help wrangle the cats). In the BWI Signature flight support terminal there were a couple of other folks passing through with dogs, pilot said a lot of folks do that. It was fun. Nice aircraft, and the Signature people were great too.
