Sea-Tac Airport to allow people without tickets to go past security
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is restarting a program that allows people to go through security and meet loved ones at the gate without purchasing a ticket, something that hasn't been allowed for 17 years. (www.cnn.com) 更多...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I hope this goes well. It was hard to tell but does this work for those seeing someone off for a flight? Saying goodbye at the security line is just not the same as seeing them board the plane. I believe this will also inspire some young people to pursue a vocation with aviation.
yes, it would. It would be how it was pre-9/11. You could go all the way up to the actual gate, but only ticketed passengers allowed on the flight. As I said above, this helps the airlines and the airport staff alleviate a ton of liability issues, especially with dealing with the disabled and minors.
They have enough trouble just keeping them off the ramp now this will be worse yet. They cant even screen passengers properly at the gate
Right idea, wrong airport, based on my recent connection made at SEA. Maybe I was simply there at the wrong time (noon-ish) but the terminals were quite overcrowded as it was. It may increase parking revenue for the the airport, though :-)
Seatac was one of the last BIG airports that moved the rental cars to a,rental car center.
The last nail in the coffin of any frequent traveler, making even Everett attractive when you add the life killing bus trip and drive to downtown. Just last month after arriving at Seatac and saw over 200 hundred people in line and ONE rental bus parked :) I used uber just to avoid the massive wait.

Bad idea. Say goodbye to an open chair in the restaurants and boarding areas, and using the washroom without a line. Airports are crowded enough and have minimum seating. I hope this does not spread to other airports!
