Hi Joan, the photo would be more nature looking if the horizon (water meets shoreline) in the picture was parallel to the horizontal axis of the picture. I like the picture!

First of all, great picture Gary! I always enjoy viewing your pictures.
My take on the USN BuNo remaining. Most of the jet is still the USN "Haze Gray" paint, I posit that the celebratory paint colors were added without over-painting the gray.

Great historic aircraft.
Obviously, not the twin turbo-prop Grumman OV-1 Mohawk of the Viet Nam era. Software miss I.D. of A/C type.

An oldie, but goodie!
However, it is a B727-100, the most easily identifiable difference from this view between it and a -200 is the mid-fuselage R1 door just forward of the wing.

This picture was not taken from a B747 based upon the window shape and the wiper location. I believe it was taken from a B777-200 as the headline suggests.
I can't explain the Registration Number mix up.

Its a B727-100, not -200.

Great Pic!! I noticed that the RAT (Ram Air Turbine) was deployed and spinning, very interesting to see in action.
