I think they are predicting flights to return to 75% capacity a little sooner than reality however I will say that the Delta flight this morning that I was on. had three quarter of all rows full (excluding middle seats). People are traveling again. It’s only a matter of time before planes are full again (assuming social distancing is relaxed or less necessary).

This is good. I first read about it yesterday and thought it was a dumb idea but then again these LCCs have a part of their business model to charge extra for everything compared to majors/legacies just doing the best for their customer without the premium and in most cases right now a heavily discounted ticket price.

I don’t doubt this experience at all but keep in mind that tipping is often seen as rude in many countries. Much of the airport labor force is seen as a high class job and they are paid well (even for the wheelchair valets). The labor force in America as I am sure you are aware is very lazy. You could say it is because they are not paid well but in the house I was raised the quality of the work governed the pay in exchange and not the other way around ... no way would I demand higher pay before I decided to provide my very best work ethic. (Apologies for the tangent)

There should be options. Everyone has a preference but being forced to one or the other at nearly every airport is not right. There was one airport somewhere that had two different stations playing which was nice.

I am with you on this. Single Aisle 3/3 configuration are hard enough domestically transcon. There needs to be more space on long international flights.

Reference .... I didn't know this. I guess I could Google it...

The record should only count if it were on a regularly scheduled route.

Interestingly enough, this was CPL material for me. I think it definitely should be PPL material. We all learn the engine failure to a grass strip part for the check ride but real life problems need to be taught not canned curriculums.

Good experience and way to handle it! This individual may not have had exposure to a similar problem and could have been a long tenured pilot or the first flight after PPL checkride. If it said in the video I missed it. Everyone’s experience and resource management is different in emergency situations.
