Nice photo and accompanying info. That's the way I usually see aircraft overflying my house. So, Houston now has a Spaceport? Co-located with or on Ellington AFB/AFNG. I did not know that.

What a great classic. 'Whirlybirds' was one of my favorite Friday night TV shows. Late '50s as I recall.

Young Lieutenant sure is proud of his bird. X Corps patch, red boot laces and all. Bet seeing those red laces had the Sergeant Major squirming.

Final flare on a flight to the boneyard. Good picture. Sad day. Wonder if Qantas will retire the 'Spirit of Australia' aircraft name? Perhaps it will transfer to the replacement model? Hopefully.

First experienced T-bolt2 at Fort Irwin, CA (now NTC) on an Army Reserve exercise in 1980. It was over us and on us before we knew it. Never heard it coming-only heard it going away. As OPFOR, we were dead meat. Very possibly the best-ever ground support aircraft.
