agreed! But these days, hiring a person because they are black is ok, or hiring someone because they are female, regardless of their ability. Imagine if the statement said UA was hiring pilots because they were white and male? The outcry, calls for boycott, state governors clamoring for landing rights to be suspended.... it's a shame that all the progress made over the last years will be wiped out by misguided actions such as this one
It was a tragic accident. But to rename waypoints in honor of a rich, entitled athlete, ignoring the others who perished in the crash, ignoring the victims of other crashes who are not as entitled as he was, is repugnant.
Shame on you, FAA.
Great airline - great people, love the A330 service. I've flown them JFK/HNL many times - their first class svc is great. Wondering though, it looks like they plan to keep the inbound aircraft idle in MCO for a full day after arrival from HNL. Is this normal? All their other destinations the plane turns around within 2-3 hours.
Not for anything, but the atmosphere of lawsuit-happy folks is out of control. If I chartered airliners for my team, I'd want some level of say in who staffed the cabins. Come on, get real.
...by definition, this is racism. Pure and simple. Just substitute "white". As in, Boeing pledges a 20 percent increase in white employees. Shame on you, Boeing. How about "...pledges to hire the most qualified employees to boost quality control"???
