Qantas cops another fine in US over baggage fees disclosure

QANTAS has been fined $US100,000 by US authorities for failing to properly disclose baggage fees, the group's second fine revealed this week. United Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, becoming the North American launch operator for the long-awaited aircraft. United inherited orders for 50 787s in its merger with Continental and plans to use the new aircraft on international services to Africa, Asia and Europe. Alice Springs has been named as the location for Australia's first aircraft boneyard -- a graveyard for aircraft past their use-by date. RAAF Orions coming home a decade later

Two RAAF AP-3C Orion surveillance aircraft are heading home after nearly a decade deployed to the Middle East. RAAF Edinburgh-based Number 92 Wing has had Orions deployed to the Middle East since 2003 which have conducted ISR operations over Iraq, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf and the North Arabian Sea.
