Very interesting. It bears a strong resemblance to the one used in the opening scenes of "2001, A Space Odyssey". Wonder if it was left behind (Doubtful), or someone made a copy of it for fun.

I think,, because I haven't checked it yet, that the neck gaiter is accepted by the CDC. It is used by Federal Air Marshals while flying, because there was a major run-in in Atlanta about just that. Seems that the rules are not set in stone yet.

I hope that the crew recovers and can fly again. If the plane is repairable, that is fine, but people that can fly that plane are in short supply.

Almost sounds like a "Skunk Works" type of aircraft build. Those always seem to fly well and work as designed.

It is amazing how many people ignore the information card and the instructions of the passenger service people on safety. Fly for the military, even in the back end, and you will respect what can happen and how fast it can happen.

I wonder how many people still remember boarding through the rear door on the early 727s? They closed and sealed them shortly after hijacking and bailout through that door.

I have to agree with the general feeling of this list. Lately it seems to be the big push with society to change everything if it "offends me", even if they don't have any idea of its historical value or its history in the first place. We are rapidly losing our history to under or uneducated masses who only want what appears to be a totally socialist society.

Ricky, I have to agree with you. I flew in the RC-135M in the Gulf and it is always a chance that something will go wrong. Had some interesting landings, but luckily we didn't lose anyone or any planes. Can't be said for everyone. I hope that the families of this crew will find peace and comfort soon.

A couple of quick comments. Trans-Texas was frequently referred to as Trans-Treetops for some of the smaller commuter flights, and World airlines was also a favorite of the military transport groups for U.S. to overseas movement of both service members and their families.
