A mistaken impression of the word "theory" trips up many people with "a little bit of knowledge." There is the conventional meaning, which tells you that the concept in question is hypothetical or lacks proof, and the scientific meaning , which says to you that the concept sufficiently explains the evidence or phenomena (say, evolution) or makes such accurate predictions that a consensus exists (yes, CONSENSUS) among those who study the matter so that it may be taken as true (say, general relativity, quantum mechanics, and the experimental and epidemiological data on masking effectiveness). This one absolutely doesn't know what she's talking about. Pilots don't wear masks in the cockpit. The free flow of air (not O2) in and around the cockpit minimizes aerosol transmission risk to a virtual nullity. Pilot
