"...a baby was propelled out of a parent's arms and landed in a seat nearby, but the infant didn't appear to be hurt."
If you can afford it please buy a seat for your baby and use a proper child restraint system.
I see that the authors of the article are doing their best to help the TSA marginalize dissenters.
Incidentally, here's the AAA press release with the travel figures: http://www.aaanewsroom.net/Main/Default.asp?CategoryID=8&ArticleID=816
93 Percent of holiday travelers will drive and three percent will fly. The number of drivers will increase 3.2 percent when compared to last year. The number of flyers will increase 2.8 percent.
"...the database has records from about 240 incidents. Most are screeners in conflict with other screeners. About 30 incidents involve people such as passengers or airport workers attacking or threatening screeners..."
So, does that mean 210 of the 240 incidents were screener-on-screener? The way the story was written made it sound like that screeners have to deal with nasty passengers. You have to make it through several paragraphs to find the real story.
