I read somewhere that there was some relevant training offered as part of the sale which those airlines declined to purchase? If that's the case, I do blame Boeing however for making it not included as a standard aspect of the plane's package. Boeing has also had a well-known horrible culture lately from the execs of trying to get rid of engineers to save money. I'd like to ask them how much money they saved doing that...

I actually didn't mind it strangely enough, even thought I'm not the biggest fan of CNN. It seemed normal for there to be news playing in the areas where the monitors are/were.

It's amazing how many people continue to argue such a strange invalid concept as there just being one...

Same here, if the transport/cargo market is going to keep increasing, then why not keep using the best plane for it?

I just mean that it will become increasingly difficult to avoid, especially as more are put into the market. I was hell bent on not flying a 787 but alas, I ended up on one from DEN to HNL. I could've spent different money and tried dates that used a 777 but the pain in the ass of that will become too much for any significant number of people to actually avoid MAXs forever.

I'd love to see how any measurable number of people are going to avoid flying the MAX over any real span of time.

Thank you Sir for this account, it read like a novel and really got me thinking about what those times must've been like. I grew up flying as a kid and now as an adult I've been having my own international adventures and have really been enjoying the learning experiences. I long for a flight on the four-seven but in my time it's been the triple 7 that I've fallen in love with ever since my dad took me to see the all-glass cockpit of one of the first United deliveries at IAD in 1995. As I started my Asian travels in 2013 or so I've been on many a 777ER/LR from DFW to ICN and I always feel safe up there even w/o the four engines of the 47. I too want the legacy of the 47 to live on and if it can't be in the passenger variant then the cargo variants work just fine. I love the story it tells of American ingenuity and design with its legacy. Last thing, before moving to VA my dad worked at SFO and we lived in Burlingame for a while - you brought some memories back, thanks again!

They've been saying that for years now. If orders keep coming they will keep making them.
