Is that tail # correct?

Of course not, Flightaware for all of their excellent services allowing us to track flights do need someone at their offices knowledgeable on aviation matters including registries for whoever is in charge identifies MILITARY aircraft of various nationalities including France, US, etc. as if their tail numbers were preceded by letter N which corresponds to US civilian aircraft. Awful, isn't it.

Aircraft identification is a serious problem on this site. I frequently see headline tags saying B747-400 when in fact they are either B747-200 or -300 and this follows with other Boeing types and some Airbus pictures. I rate according to accuracy rather than the merit of the picture even if they are outstanding of merit. The number is mis identified Antonov aircraft is worrying....

Obviously the "N" appended to the French registration number (correctly shown in the body of the text as a parenthetical reference) is incorrect. This is exclusively a French aircraft none of which are registered in the U.S.
