Best helicopter ever. SP/6 Charles chinook mechanic. I have been on CH 47s doing some outstanding lifts. Ramp ride is the best. Kick Ass Ride.

That would be airframe #07-08040. Lots of life left in that bird. Great photo!

Excellent shot.
Flew the Chinook in Vietnam and as an instructor.
One of the great helicopters of our generation (and then some.)

I love the "Hooks". Crew chief on a Huey "slick" VN 67-68 162nd AHC 2nd platoon of the "Vultures" and was "recovered" from the boonies six times by these beasts! Love me some Hooks!

They were part of my family's life back in the middle to late '60s. My father was foreman of the research and development flight department for Boeing Vertol. Hi got me into the first gunship. I was at the impressive age of 14.

Comment is for Andrew Dulay, the Viet Nam Vet.
Welcome home brother.
Not got to fly in one of these.
But I did enjoy a ride on a Huey in 84 in Basic.
In regards to my top comment, Soldiers always hear THANK YOU. but our Viet Nam Vets never heard WELCOME HOME.
Every few weeks I will see one or two of these fly by, either coming from Sac, or the Depot in Lathrop. Gonna have to bring out my cam and capture these beauties and post them.
thank you to all the contributors, these are awesome shots and I enjoy these weekly.
