Comments
That is a pretty Navion.
1950 Constructed as a Navion A, NAV-4-2034 by Ryan.
A NAVION (NOT THIS ONE) was one of the first A/C i I worked on when I started my career, WAY BACK when
GREAT looking A/C, VERY NICE pic!

Well done! The Navion is often overlooked for what it offers in performance and comfort.
Good looking Navion! Engine upgrade?! My neighbor had a Navion (N91701) growing up and gave me my first plane ride in it. What a great airplane! Beautiful design and built like a rock.
While only a fan and not an expert of Navions, the one i checked out in while instructing at the Travis AFB Flying Club back in '67 had up draft cooling from a grill opening below the prop. This one here features down draft cooling and a scimitar style three blade prop probably installed on a Continental IO-520 or 550 which makes this one a fine fast ship.
My parents had a new 1950 Navion after starting with an Ercope. They laughingly called it the "airborne Buick", but I remember a very peaceful plane to ride in as I was 7 years old. My mother raced it in a Powder Puff Derby transcontinental race against a woman who would end up being my 3rd stepmother. The step-mother-to-be did better in the race because she had been a bomber ferry pilot during WWII and had a lot more hours as PIC.
Like these aircraft especially the three prop blade
Thank you, just got through with the restoration. And Jesse yes this is Nav-4-2034. Ryan Navion A. I have owned her 33 years
This one has the brand new IO-550R STC with an MT prop and carbon fiber front end
