Replica of the first airplane to fly in Kentucky... The culmination of years of research by Mathew B. Sellers, he flew 753 feet across the Carter County countryside on 28 Dec 1908. This is the first aircraft with retractable landing gear aircraft to fly, he used the wheels on take0off and landed on skids mounted on the frame. This is one of the displays at The Aviation Museum of Kentucky on the grounds of Blue Grass Airport (KLEX) in Lexington, KY.
