That is really cool, are these vintage repaints or does the FAA actually still use these DC-3s?

Easy explanation here... N76 is a FAA held registration and currently assigned to a Beech 300 Super King Air. When this photo was captured, N76 was assigned to that specific DC-3, which was owned and operated by the FAA to typically check navaids throughout the CONUS. N25 in the background likely was used in the same role. FAA records show it was deregistered in 1971. I recall seeing a FAA owned and operated DC-3 flying overhead during that era to check navaids and airport ILS systems. The FAA operates such aircraft out of Oklahoma City, OK at KOKC Will Rogers World Airport.
