BOEING 727-200 (N802EA)
KPHX - April 1999 with Northwest 727 on taxi to the main runways...

GREAT capture, T. Full five. And a PS - Do you happen to know the reg # of the Northwest Twenty-Seven that what's his nuts jumped out of? Can't think of his name right now - the dude who is famous for never getting caught. He made his leap from the aft stairs of a Northwest 727 - do you know the reg?
Gary... that man was known as D.B. Cooper and the FAA registration you are searching for was N467US. That's the Northwest 727-100 he departed in flight via the aft stairway with a parachute and the $200,000 in unmarked $20 bills! His actual name was considered to be unknown, but as I recall he remained on the FBI's most wanted list for quite a while. This one is still a mystery case!
The fate of N467US is known, however. According to Wiki...
"In 1978 the hijacked 727-100 aircraft was sold by Northwest to Piedmont Airlines where it was re-registered N838N and continued in domestic carrier service. In 1984 it was purchased by the now-defunct charter company Key Airlines, re-registered N29KA, and incorporated into the Air Force's civilian charter fleet that shuttled workers between Nellis Air Force Base and the Tonopah Test Range during the top-secret F-117 Nighthawk development program. In 1996 the aircraft was scrapped for parts in a Memphis boneyard."

Jobeard... thanks and I do appreciate the good words!!!
Hiya, Cliff. Hey, TYVM for the reply. I just blanked on DB's name while I was typing out my question to Alien. I watched a recent TV special about old Coop not long ago. Also, the Twenty-Seven that he bailed out of landed here after he hit the silk and I've got a bunch of pics of it at the airport and of the crew being interviewed here, but I can't find them (not much good to me if I can't find 'em, eh?) so that was why I asked Alien if he knew the reg #. I appreciate the update about N467US / N838N / N29KA. (Thumbs Up)
Gary... You are welcome and thanks for the good words. I am wishing you success in finding those photos that 727!
Thanks for all of the help for Gman....great comments_and links I can check out later...
