McDonnell Douglas MD-88 (N981DL) - KSJC - Delta Air lines used a real mix of aircraft over the years at San Jose, this jet being no exception. I think this is an MD-88 in which I'm not certain but we did see a few with MD-88 stencils on the tail section sometimes. Other aircraft were the 727, 737-200/300/800 Boeing 757s and MD-90s. This photo date early 1990s set to depart to KSLC Salt Lake City.

Great shot worth way more than 5 stars! MD-88's wore the livery well. I think Delta should go back to this livery for the entire fleet! Thank you for posting this, Tom! Hoosier cheers!!

Thank you Cdub, I always thought Delta had the best Livery also....especially on the L-1011.

I agree Tom! Delta L-1011's were great! Alas....never snapped any pics of them in those days....
