Please stop posting all of these distant, grainy views that neither show the beauty of flight or the delicate details of the aircraft.

I suppose out of nearly 1500 images I have posted on Flightaware I would get ONE comment about Grainy images... with the poor equipment I have.... Nikon D500 and f2.8 300 mm prime Nikon lens I should be able the get Really clear images of Aircraft flying at around 30-35,000 feet but I don't know HOW.... Maybe you could tell me or point me in the right direction... I'll NOT take your advice though ... and continue to post any images until the site owners tell me to stop.

Unfortunately between your camera and the plane there is a little thing called earth's atmosphere to deal with. So on any giver day conditions matter including the sun angle on the aircraft as reflections at any or all coming from the plane will doom the quality of the image. As far as that shot I would not vote a poor but you can see this image is on the other side of a thin layer of moisture (clouds).
So keep shooting those high one's and look and learn. Your camera settings are good as it is not a blurred image and the contrail is reasonable. I posted a few over the years too and learned a lot. Hang in there.

Thanks warmwynds... not very often during our Autumn / Winter do we get a sky where you can see the Aircraft for the Clouds... I NEVER expect Pin Sharp images from 5 MILES away... so ANY that are within reason are ok...!!! I wonder if I could maybe see some of Michael Gower's images and learn from HIS Technique...!!!
