This is what I see from my backyard (albeit from further away) when takeoff is from 12/30 Dulles. Noisy bugger! But I don't mind.

Yes, it was designed and built in Ukraine while it was part of USSR. Now Ukraine is independent, and the airplane operator is based in Kiev.
Quite a sight to behold, regardless of its provenance.

Was in Ukraine for the past couple of weeks and had hoped to have had sight of these flying giants whilst in Kharkiv and Kyiv, but sadly not to be on this occasion.

The tire (tyre) cost alone would bankrupt many small countries.
