Bell UH-1V Iroquois (15-8764)
Shown here being operated by the US Navy's SAR team based at NAS Fallon about two years after it was "handed down" to the Navy from the USMC; this twelve year old photo (taken in 2008) of 158764, a Bell UH-1N Iroquois (more commonly referred to as a "Huey"), was clicked during a demo performance.

By 2008, I had moved on from a Canon Powershot A20 to a Canon Powershot S5-IS. For this late morning daytime shot, I screwed up two of the camera settings: putting the ISO speed at 400 and the f stop setting too low. Because both of those settings combined to permit too much light, I had tried to compensate at the last second by setting the shutter speed at 1/1250th. I was fortunate that the photo came out, but the result was rather noisy so I had to waste a bunch of time and effort editing it. Far, FAR easier to use the proper settings to begin with. (lol)
Gary... McCain Field, NAS Meridian, near Meridian, MS had one or more Bell UH-1 Huey helos in the same "livery" back in the day... used to see one flying often...!!!
