BOEING 767-300 (N705KW)
Eastern's N705KW, a B763, arriving from Chicago around 2:30 yesterday afternoon..
Two of the largest wildfires in California are burning west of Reno and the smoke from those two fires was super thick. The mountains are completely obscured and the city skyline is barely visible.
If you look just in front of the right main landing gear, you can BARELY see the "N."

There were three charter arrivals here yesterday (a Sun Country was just behind this one and a Sierra Pacific B735 was about 90 minutes out) and I really wanted to get captures of all three, but it was very difficult to be out in all the smoke. I did get my snaps but I admit I was happy to get inside after spending more than two hours positioned on Taxiway Charlie. I had little choice as to where to position myself because the temp was in the high 90s and the smoke was very thick so if I had been any farther away the pics would have been distorted by the heat and obscured by the smoke.
Fantastic capture Gary! I always seem to miss this one so thank you for sharing! All 5 my friend!
Thanks for this Gary. I noticed the classic Eastern motif (if that's the right word) positioned high up on her fin/rudder. You take care out there!
Great pic with all the smoke! No mask? ( jk)
Even has the Eastern "Hockey Stick"!:-)
