...and the reliable MD-3 ground power, familiar to most USAF crew chiefs. The MD-3 was designed for the B-47.

I grew up near Westover and remember seeing these on the tarmac when the public was allowed to tour the base.
This Boeing B-47 Stratojet, USAF s/n 53-1851, c/n 265, is a Lockheed-Marietta B-47E-60-LM, "Model 450 B-47E built by Lockheed under license from Boeing" according to Joe Baugher's published information. Joe notes it was transferred "to MASDC Mar 26, 1964".
AMARC records indicate this B-47 served with the 303rd Bombardment Wing (Medium) assigned to MacDill AFB in Florida. She arrived at MASDC on 26 Mar 1964 and was declared excess on 11 Sep 1968. The final entry states, "scrapped at Davis-Monthan AFB".
