It's a Grumman F4F-*, at KRFI

Just 5 months after Dec 7,'41, the Douglas SDB dauntless, Grumman TBM Avenger and this type F4F Wildcat engaged the IJN ( Imperial Japanese Navy ) in May, '42 at Midway and stopped the expanding aggression in the Pacific. The more famous F6F wasn't there as it's first flight wasn't until June and the deployment wasn't until Sept '43.
