The only truly good aircraft the Brits designed prior to WWII where the Spitfire, perhaps the Hurricane and the Lancaster, the rest like this one were awful looking creatures snd terribly inefficient.
But, lets not forget, this outclassed and outdated design lead to the beaufort beaufighter designs. Not to mention that and almost every bomber developed by the players in WWII was proven to be inadequate versus the fighters that they came up against (see the losses suffered by the JU87s 88s and the HE111s when they meet the Spitfire or the horrible losses suffered by early marks of the B17, not that the 8ths loses were not massive even with later updated variants). Keep in mind also that most nations belived war was unlikely up until the late 30s and r&d was not a high priority for most, with the exception of Germany who knew that war was coming and were planning to wage it. I thinks its a testament to the brits that from 39 to 45 they managed to put new designs in the air that were the class of the world, such as the Mosquito and other designs started just prior to war or after. Also keep in mind this design was from 1935 and by that standard it was a fairly slick for that time, but sadly the late 30s were a time of rapid advancement in design of aircraft airframes, powerplants and overall design ideas.

Is this a true Blenheim I or is it a converted bollingbroke IV

@ Tomothy you are right that unfortunately it is war that drives the design of new combat planes be it fighters or bombers. In the 50s the Hawker Hunter was a class by itself enduring more tan 2 decades of efficient service with various air forces and from a pure aesthetically point of view simply a beauty.

Chalet...the hawker hunter is still used by Draken Industries flying aggressor training against the US military...the use the A-4 and Mirage as well
