Too bad they didn't put the Corsair's wings down for the shot. Still an epic looking photo.
Holy Cow! Open the full resolution image in a new window to truly appreciate this image. Very high resolution with lots of detail.
Growing up I became enthralled with the the AVG and the P-40. Nice to see it up front.
It was only 40 years from Kitty Hawk in 1903 to this photo ca. 1943. Once humans get their technological momentum up, there is no stopping homo sapiens!
That is just a BEAUTIFUL photo. This will become wallpaper on my computer in the very near future. Thank you so much for sharing, Mr. Pawlesh

Great shot! All three of them are very nice guys! At Sun N Fun this year, my friend and I got recruited by Lou to help out after his and Ariel's performance with Little Witch and Mad Max. I was tasked with putting the canopy cover on Little Witch as well as intake and exhaust plugs in. Of course my 17 year old self was in heaven at this point.
