N946WN wears the stunning Louisiana One Livery for Southwest Airlines! This livery stylized the gorgeous Louisiana State Flag featuring the state bird of the Eastern Brown Pelican. The Pelican nests on the engines is a nice detail! Near the rear of the fuselage the state's motto of "Union, Justice, & Confidence". Among all the gorgeous State One Liveries, this is one of my favorites.

I'm in Altoona. It is really RARE to see a photo come out of DSM. And this is a great shot. I'm wondering where you setup at. Since they took the parking out of National Guard area it's difficult to find a place to spot from.

midcon07, DSM has three public spotting location, Parking Garage, Cellphone Lot, and parking Loy behind Elliott Aviation. This particular image was taken on a hill just across Runway 13/31 from the guard base. It is airport property and can be used for planespotting as long as one calls operations to let them know what one is doing. If you go up there watch out for the snakehole near the top of the hill. There are several other spots that only work in specific lighting conditions, and runway configurations, and in some cases ramp access.
